Antimicrobial &
Mold Killing Paint

The First Nations Housing Movement has formed a partnership with an R&D laboratory to produce an antimicrobial paint. Extensive testing has shown the compound to kill a wide range of bacteria including MRSA, VRE, CRE and many others.

Recycled Paint

The antimicrobial product can be added to water and solvent-based paints. Paints containing this product are long-lasting and promote improved overall health, while keeping the surroundings clean and fresh. All the paint used for the First Nations Housing Initiative is recycled. Our recycled paint partner sells to Walmart, Lowe’s and Giant Tiger. By using recycled paint, we ensure we are saving the environment from contamination.

Testing

The paint product has been extensively tested by BioScience Laboratories Inc. and the University of British Columbia. Test results are available upon request.

Features of antimicrobial paint:

Be Housing has recognized the importance of respecting the cultural practices of our First Nations partners. Beginning the journey with a ceremony, elders will offer prayers giving thanks to those involved with the building of not just the structural houses, but new homes for those most in need.

Be Housing has partnered with groups that have been involved in the provision of cultural training through Elders Advisory Councils for large corporations like Tim Horton’s.  More recently, we have been approached to provide online cultural training modules for SafetyNEt who provide training for 3,000+ companies including ConocoPhillips, Suncor, Enbridge, Gibson Energy, WestJet, GoA and many more.
